The EASA Private Pilots Licence (PPL) is the go to licence and the first step on the ladder for any fixed wing aviation career. The licence follows the general schedule of first covering basic handling, effects of controls and the ‘circuit’ of your local aerodrome, followed by first solo. Then, with your instructor back in the aircraft with you navigation exercises and instrument appreciation follow. Then completion of your ten hours of required solo time and a brush up with your instructor you will sit your skills test with one of our examiners.
Requirements for obtaining a PPL:
- Minimum of 45 hours flight training which comprises of 25 hours dual training and 10 hours solo
- One cross country flight of at least 150nm during which a full stop landing at two different airfields is required
- Passing all 9 PPL written exams
- Class 2 medical
- Radiotelephony licence
- Passing the PPL skills test
