The multi engine piston (MEP) rating is designed to allow you to fly a twin engine piston aircraft with no previous multi engine experience required. Our Piper Seneca is a pleasure to fly and is ideal as a light twin for training purposes.
Before getting your multi engine rating you require a minimum of 70 hours as pilot in command on a single engine aircraft with either a PPL or CPL licence, this ensures you have the relevant experience and can complete the MEP course in minimum hours.
The course comprises of 7 hours of ground school lessons, a multi choice theory exam and 6 hours of dual instruction in our Piper Seneca aircraft followed by an MEP skills test with an examiner. During the course you will learn how to control the aircraft safely in both normal operating conditions and in engine failure procedures and asymmetric flight techniques.
