Light Aircraft Pilots Licence

Light Aircraft Pilots Licence

The Light Aircraft Pilot’s Licence (LAPL) is our most popular licence among hobbyists, enthusiasts and private pilots for pleasure. With a licence requiring only 30 hours of training total so at only two thirds of the cost of the 45 hour PPL this course and licence is perfectly suited to the recreational pilot. Obtaining the LAPL though is still no mean feat as training still entails 6 hours of solo time, 24 hours dual instruction, a solo cross country navigation and a Skills test when your instructor deems you ready.

Whilst there are a number of restrictions, it offers the potential to gain your licence without the need for such a strict aviation medical. Although you can convert this to a PPL.

If you would like to find out more about obtaining a LAPL please feel free get in contact with us and we will do our best to help.
